While we were at the doctor's office getting Anteya's weight check done I sat her up on the patient bed that they have in each room and she propped herself up using her hands and sat there!! It was only for a few seconds but she held it all by herself!!! I couldn't believe it!! She is getting so big!! After everything she has gone through I can't believe she is still developementally on target. She is about 2 weeks ahead of Alaythia on most things. Alaythia didn't sit up assisted until 6 months and Anteya is 5 1/2 months. Alaythia didn't hold her bottle till about 5 months and Anteya was 4 months. It is neat to see how every child is different though.
I just love having kids at Anteya's age and up to Alaythia's age so far! Where now all the big stuff starts happening. sitting up assisted then unassisted, then crawling, pulling herself up to a standing position, jabbering, saying mama and dada, then walking, having real words like pretty or princess, then forming full sentences.
Alaythia is talking so much now!! She says Thank you, please, Daddy, Mommy, Fruit, Juice, bottle, sis, baby, mine, no, book, purse, pop, doggy(sounds like goggy), Ari, Winnie, Poop, Potty, Bath, Butt, Teeth, sippy, Famil Guy(which is A Guy), bed, eeeewwww, and tons of other words and phrases. She is a great kid and I love her so much!!! Anteya too. She is just amazing to have! I am truly blessed that I was put on the path that led Aaron and I to have these beautiful daughters!!! They are the greatest gifts! I can't imagine my life without them! I LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!!

Come on baby keep on...
GAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anteya had her weight check today. She gained 13oz in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!! If she continues to gain than we get to cancel the Children's hospital appointment set for October! She has gained a total of 1lb 7oz in 2 weeks and they said she should gain 5oz a week!!! So this is a great start!! We are going on the thought that she was jus lacking in the weight department due to the fact that she had surgery and and an infection and wasn't able to get food to go through her system. So hopefully we have seen the end of the weight problems and we can start to actually enjoy her rather than be worried all the time. Unless you have been there you have no idea what a relief this truly is. To try everything you and your doctor can think of to help her gain weight but having no luck and one week just do a complete 360 and start gaining rapidly!!!
I am going to talk to her doctor about switching back to her old formula once she is back up to the 25th percentile for weight or whatever percentile Dr. Bowers thinks is even for her weight on the growth scale. The NeoSure she is on now is causing problems with other areas so we will see. I am just hoping more and more that this scare is over with. You can tell she is different too. She is so much happier now than she was even a couple weeks ago. She doesn't seem like a 2 month old anymore. I had put her in the carseat and buckled her in after her weight check and she lifted her head as far forward as she could to see her mommy and she looked at me and smiled and I didn't see a 2 month old like I normally would I saw 6 month old! It was incredible! I thought OMG she is really starting to look great!! I can't believe it!

My thoughts on my friends
So My sister in law Nikki is preggo YAY!!!! We are all hoping it is a boy for poor Josh's sake!! LOL!!! He has 2 daughters and then Nikki so he is TOTALLY out numbered!! Aaron feels for him he is the same way!
So my thoughts are...
That Smirnoff has done well with the Raspberry Burst flavored malt beverage!! It's TOTALLY YUMMO!!!!!
So let me start off by saying in high school I was never a popular child! As a matter of fact I was made fun of by pretty much EVERYONE.I was new to the school in the 8th grade and the very first day people were picking on me. But that day I met Lindsay, Melissa, Katy, and Gina! They were all so welcoming and nice!!! We became fast friends and stayed that way all through high school and even today!! No matter how many people made fun of me they were always there for me!!!
Anyway, I am a tad sad that I have not been able to keep in better touch with my dearest friends. We are all living our busy lives, well mine is busy but not like there's. None of them have children yet so their line of work is different from mine!! Don't get me wrong those ladies work very very hard and are damn good people and I too work very hard and anyone with kids knows this LOL. But our lives don't seem to schedule up with each other you know? We used to have parties at my house, go to Lincoln for the movies, dinner, or to just be girls feeling like we are the coolest chicks out there! MAN I MISS THOSE DAYS!!! We were all so carefree! But like every adult ever tells you, when you graduate high school things and people change. I just never thought it would be this much. I wish I had more time with my friends. I wish their lives weren't so hectic not only to spend time with friends and family, but also take time for themselves. A couple of the wonderful women work so hard sometimes that they hardly have time to sleep!
I want to let you know that you girls totally kick ass!!!!! Lindsay, Katy, Melissa, and Gina you girls mean the world to me!!!! You all are an ispiration to me! I love you all with all my heart and you will always be sisters to me!!!
Then there is Amanda!! Yeah girl I didn't forget about you!!! The first "real" job I ever had was working at the hospital and you made that FUN!!!! I would always look forward to working with you because we would be laughing so hard I would be crying!!! There were days that were so horrible but I would come to work and you would be working and make me forget about all of the bad!!! You rock girl!!! Can't wait to see baby Braylon!!!
Throughout the years these wonderful women have been my friends and I do hope they remain that way!!!
Love ya lots

Anteya and Alaythia appointment
So today was Anteya's weight check! I was going into this appointment so nervous I felt sick! It turned out pretty good!!! She gained 10oz in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I AM SO HAPPY!!! She is now 11lbs 7oz! We are going to just take her in next Thursday for a weight check to see if she stays on the path! We will keep monitoring it and hopefully not have to go to Children's Hospital!!! I am going to reintroduce solids since she is ready for them and giving all the signs she is ready so why hold her back! I am trying not to get my hopes up that she will stay on this path because she has fallen off it so many times. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!! We did talk about changing her formula to Neo sure or something like that it is a little higher in calorie count. So that will help too!
Alaythia has become a CHUNK!!!!! She is 28lbs 7oz!!! My little buddah!!! She really is starting to look like all my buddah statues! She has the round head and the chubby belly!!! She is just adorable!!! She has an ophthalmologist appointment on September 5th to see if she needs glasses. I am thinking probably not but it doesn't hurt to have her checked since both Aaron and myself have glasses. My sister is supposed to wear them, my father wears them, both my grandma's wear them, Aaron's parents both wear them, and so on and so forth!!! So hey what can ya do.
Well I am going to bed! Good night everyone!!!

family update
Well on the 14th which was last Thursday I took Anteya in to the doctors because she was not responding to noise in her left ear. The doctor's made me rush her in even though we canceled her appointment earlier that afternoon because I was sick. So I rush her in and the idiot doctor tells me he sees no red in her ear nor any fluid but it is still an ear infection in his mind. He was going to give her meds for it but since he didn't know for sure what was wrong I refused the meds for her. If she was given antibiotics for an ear infection and that wasn't what it was then she could develope an immunity to them and if she ever needed them down the road they would not work.
So as most of you know Anteya has had a lot of problems since birth. She was born healthy no NICU stay no extra oxygen nothing like that. She was nursing within a hour after birth and was a champ. Well that all changed once we got home. She started being more fussy refusing to nurse. You brought her anywhere near the breast and she freaked out. I got so worried because her weight dropped so far that we decided formula was best for her and stopped breastfeeding despite the fact that I really really didn't want to stop. So she started getting better it seemed she was eating and gaining. But there was an underlying problem that we didn't know about. After throwing up everyday after every feeding for 2 1/2 months we realized something was wrong. It was the middle of the night on Sunday May 25th, well technically it would have been early Monday morning. She kept waking up puking which wasn't really abnormal but she was puking a lot more often then normal. Everytime she puked she woke me up. But something wasn't right her vomit was brown. I didn't know what to do. Aaron and I thought it might have been something else. So we changed her each time and put her back to sleep because that was all that she wanted to do was sleep. So that morning we woke up and she seemed better she had went a little while without vomiting so we thought it was nothing. Well we went until the afternoon time and she was smiling and we were having fun. Then we laid her down for a nap and she puked several times during nap time and it was brown vomit again. So this time we decided to take her to the E.R. Aaron stayed with Alaythia at home because she was napping and needed to eat after she got up. We arrive at the hospital and get checked in and settled into a room. 6 hours and x-rays, blood work, and an ultra sound later the doctor comes in and says Amanda Anteya has Pyloric Stenosis and she will have to have surgery. I was devastated!! I mean this was a small 2 1/2 month old baby, our baby!! I called Aaron bawling my eyes out he couldn't even understand what I was saying. He says we are on our way and he and Alaythia get ready to head out to the hospital. My mom comes out and stays with me until Aaron gets there.I was so upset I just needed someone. So the doc tells me that he is going to send in a nurse to start Anteya's I.V. So we are waiting for the nurse to come which took a few minutes. When they came in and were ready to start I started to get nervous. I was trying so hard not to cry but I was watching my baby lay on a hospital bed while I held her down and these 2 ladies poked and proaded at her body to find the right place to put the I.V. Anteya was screaming so loudly and looking at me like "Mommy make them stop it hurts" with every tear that she shed I died a little inside. I felt so horrible. I felt like I was failing her as a mother because I was not protecting her from that needle. I was helpless and it killed me! After like 3 pokes in the foot and I think one in the hand they finally got her in the arm. After that was over with Aaron showed up, which I was glad he didn't have to sit through that because I needed him to be strong for the both of us. Mind you I had just had surgery myself to repair a hernia on the 23rd and was released from that same hospital on the 24th! So our poor girl had nothing to eat from 11:30am Monday until after her surgery Tuesday. The surgery went well and she was able to eat and there was hardly any spit up but absolutely NO vomit at all. So Wednesday she was released to go home. We thought everything was going to be fine! WRONG!!! She developed an infection. We were back yet again in the E.R. to have them cut open her incision and drain the puss out which I about threw up because of. So I had to stuff her wound with gauze and clean it 2 times a day changing the dressing each time. It was very disgusting thing to do. But the infection eventually went away and her incision healed. She has 2 very noticable scars on her belly, which I will post pics of. But the rest of her healing is not even close to over yet.
See during the time before her surgery Anteya was eating anywhere from 2-4 1/2oz of formula at a time. Now the ranging is because depending on how close to the surgery you are looking at. She was taking a bottle in anywhere from 2-4 1/2 hours between the previous bottle. Again the ranging is depending on how close to surgery you are looking. She was sleeping through the night about 8-12 hours at a time. Plus napping 1-2 hours 3-4 times a day. She was getting anywhere from 14-18oz a day and NONE of that was getting out of her stomach the right way. She was vomiting all that back up or it was just sitting in her little tummy until it decided it was ready to do so.
Now that her tummy works properly she isn't gainin weight. Before surgery she was 9lbs 10oz now she is only 10lbs 14oz. She is taking in 7oz every 4-5 hours and we can't figure out why. All her blood work is normal. She is eating well. Sleeping well. And developmentally she is right on schedule. We can't believe this is so hard for her. We feel awful that she is having so many troubles. We are trying everything we can to get it figured out. She is a pretty happy baby despite what has been going on and she is just a little trooper!!! She has an appointment Wednesday to see where we are weight wise and hearing wise. So I will update again after that appointment. We are also scheduling an appointment at Children's hospital in Omaha with their specialist. We will see what they have to say. Anteya is rolling from back to tummy and tummy to back, she makes farting sounds with her mouth, she is "talking" in her baby talk, she laughs, giggles, and smiles ALL the time. She is still a crying kind of baby but I don't blame her one bit. For the most part she is a good girl. She loves being held and talked to. She loves playing with big sis even though she gets a little upset when sis gives her hugs and kisses mainly becaus Alaythia doesn't know how to hug gently and has a tendency to squeeze to tight. Anteya is learning to deal though. She really is a great baby!!
Don't think I forgot about Alaythia!!! She is doing well!! We are a little concerned about her eyesite. She has been putting books really close to her face and going right up to the t.v. to watch it. We are going to have her eyes checked and see if she needs glasses. Both Aaron and myself wear them so it won't surprise us if she does need them we were just hoping that we would be able to wait until she is a bit older. Otherwise she is doing great!! She has a HUGE vocab already. She is so polite she says please when she wants something and thank you when you give it to her. She is still jabbering but you can understand her sometimes because she squeezes a word or two in there. She is learning to tell Mommy and Daddy that she has to go potty. If we catch her in time she gets sat on her potty chair and sits until she poops or pee pees, mind you she is wearing her diaper still though. We are trying not to rush things. We are slowly teaching her what she needs to do on the potty. She can also clean up after herself. Aaron or I will tell her to pick up her toys and she starts putting them away where they belong. She sings ALL the time and dances too!!! She is just growing up so fast and everyday she gets cuter and cuter!!
As for Aaron and me well Aaron goes back to school Wednesday and I am sad!!! I love having him home!! We are all so much happier that way. But I know he has to go not only for his family but for himself. I know he is excited about it except for the math part but I know he will do great!! I do believe he got A's in pretty much all his classes! Not guarenteed so don't quote me on it but I wouldn't be surprised if he did get all A's. He is a great man and a terrific father!!! I love him more than anything in the world!!!
Me I am doing ok. Still trying to get used to this medicine. For those that don't know I am taking this yucky powder form meds because I had my gallbladder removed and my body isn't handling it well. SO I will have to take this medication for years and years probably. Oh well it is better than my other symptoms!!!!
Well gotta run it is really really late!!!
Love,
The Gesch's

We are well
Hey everyone!! I am new at this so bare with me!
Lately things have been rough! The girls have been running low grade fevers ranging from 100.0-100.8. Alaythia's has been on and off for a month now and Anteya's has been on and off since Saturday! They have appointments on Thursday and we will see what the doctor says.
Anteya has been gaining weight well! She gained 7oz in a week last Friday. We will weigh her again on Thursday to see how she is doing. For those who don't know Anteya had surgery to repair her Pyloric Stenosis. Pyloric Stenosis is when the stomach muscle that lets the food go into the intestines was swollen shut and nothing was getting digested. She was just throwing it all back up. She started vomiting up brown fluid and we took her to the E.R. and they did x-rays, blood work, and an u/s and the u/s found the pyloric stenosis. She had surgery on May 27th only 4 days after I had my hernia surgery. The day after surgery she was released from the hospital in much better spirits! It's a big change going from always feeling full but still hungry and in so much pain to hardly any pain and actually getting the satisfaction from eating! But the road to recovery has been long and hard for poor Anteya. She has and still is having so many issues with her weight. We are working hard to get her to gain. We are trying cereal which seems to be helping, I am hoping she stays on the right path and continues to gain.
Aaron is doing well also. Thursday is his last day of school for 10 days then he goes back with a whole new set of classes. He is really enjoying school! He has worked so hard and it is paying off he has As and Bs in all of his classes! I am so proud of him! I can't wait for him to get that degree so he can really see what he has accomplished!
I have been doing ok. Having some health issues due to my gallbladder being removed. We finally got it all figured out, well at least we hope we have, and am going to start my meds for it soon! I can't wait!!!! Keep your fingers crossed that the meds work and I can start feeling better!!
